BYFH was the first organisation to say yes to the program. Its JBL PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus and two wireless microphones are now in Broome, ready to support young people, creative activities and community events.

Freedom Centre in Leederville now holds the second official WAssup kit for use with LGBTQIA+ young people.
The JBL PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus and its two EasySing microphones were purchased on 9 September for $422.02 including GST, with no freight charge, and delivered on 21 September 2026. No additional expense has been recorded for the handover.

Speaker #1 has been delivered to Mulan.
Mulan Aboriginal Community is the first official recipient in the 108 Speakers Program.
Shirley confirmed safe arrival in Mulan on 7 September. Australia Post records collection at Halls Creek on 27 August. The exact arrival day in Mulan was not recorded in that confirmation.
$456.02 was applied to the JBL PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus kit and two EasySing microphones, including $34 delivery. Mulan was the first official WAssup delivery. The current program tally is 3 of 108 delivered, with 105 to go.
Mulan Aboriginal Corporation is the local custodian, holding the speaker and microphones as a shared community asset for activities, gatherings and events.

Tjuntjuntjara joins the 108.
Tjuntjuntjara Community Resource Centre, through Paupiyala Tjarutja Aboriginal Corporation, has accepted a future placement. The CRC will hold the kit and make it available for appropriate community use. Tjuntjuntjara brings the register to 49 WA locations, with 59 still to confirm and 46 confirmed locations awaiting a kit.
The Y’s Newman program has confirmed a future placement for youth activities, music, singing and events, with the kit also available to partner organisations. Newman brings the register to 49 WA locations, with 59 still to confirm and 46 confirmed locations awaiting a kit.
Scott’s new $30 personal donation has been split equally: $15 adds to the WA fund, which now holds $86.66 for Speaker #4, and $15 starts the separate Bhutan fund. Druk Bars is Scott’s play on Drukpas and hip-hop “bars”, supporting a hoped-for speaker for Tangmachu Central School in Lhuentse.
The Bhutanese-community appeal uses the same 50/50 allocation. Combined funds held are $101.66; the Bhutan +1 remains outside the 108 WA tally.
Lumina Dispensary in Ellenbrook is the first business to support the WAssup 108 Speakers Program. Thank you for your generosity, encouragement and belief in a small grassroots project that puts useful equipment into community hands.
BYFH has Speaker #3 — meet the community behind that first yes.
Speaker #3 has been delivered to Broome Youth & Families Hub. Explore its work on Yawuru Country, ways to support BYFH directly and BME YOUNGNZ, the young people’s music video.
Mowanjum Aboriginal Corporation confirmed its participation by phone, bringing the register to 47 WA locations, with 61 still to confirm. The kit will support local youth activities and community events, including film nights, concerts and discos.
Scott’s $30 personal donation and a $20 business donation add $50 to the $21.66 left after the BYFH purchase. Total program income reaches $1,409.72, with $71.66 available after $1,336.06 for three kits and delivery and $2.00 in bank fees.

Four contributions posted from 13–15 October add $179.68: a $33.20 Containers for Change return from the remainder of Scott's earlier bin haul, $70 from his personal neon sign sale, and community donations of $50 and $26.48. Total program income reaches $1,359.72. After $878.04 applied to the first two kits and $2.00 in bank fees, $479.68 is available. At this milestone, the recorded $422.02 base price is covered, leaving $57.66 before freight.
The milestone date follows the latest bank posting date, 15 October. Speaker #3 was subsequently purchased on 19 October, including direct delivery to Broome.

Explore Mulan, Paruku and MAC's community-led work through its own resources and five public YouTube videos. Mulan's approved footage shows children using Speaker #1 and its microphones in the Yapawurru Youth Program. Child safety and cultural protocols remain central; photographs and videos are always optional.
Organisations can now enquire about borrowing Scott’s own JBL PartyBox Club 120 or On-The-Go 2. Both come with a power lead. Two wireless microphones come with the On-The-Go 2; organisations borrowing the Club 120 supply their own microphones if needed. These earlier models are separate from the 108 program’s donated kits.
Scott’s personal donation of $33.65 on 8 October lifted total program income to $1,180.04. After $878.04 applied to the two official kits and $2.00 in bank fees, $300.00 is available for Broome Youth & Families Hub. A further $122.02 is needed toward the $422.02 base speaker price, excluding delivery.
A $25 donation on 3 October lifted total program income to $1,146.39. A further $1.20 in September transaction fees was charged on 1 October, bringing total bank fees to $2.00. After the two official kit purchases and bank fees, $266.35 is available for Speaker #3 and a further $155.67 is needed to reach the current $422.02 base purchase price.
Donations of $20 and $75 on 29 September lifted total program income to $1,121.39. After the two official kit purchases and $0.80 in bank fees, $242.55 is available for Speaker #3 and a further $179.47 is needed to reach the current $422.02 base purchase price.
A $10 donation on 22 September lifted total program income to $1,026.39. After the two official kit purchases and $0.80 in bank fees, $147.55 is available for Speaker #3 and a further $274.47 is needed to reach the current $422.02 base purchase price.
A Containers for Change return of 1,108 eligible containers raised $110.80 on 13 September, followed by a $25 donation on 15 September. Total program income is now $1,016.39, with $137.55 available for Speaker #3 after two kit purchases and the $0.80 bank fee.

A second JBL PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus with two EasySing microphones was purchased for $422.02 including GST, with no freight charge. The recipient was not yet public at the time of purchase; Freedom Centre in Leederville formally accepted the kit and was announced on 10 September. Total program income now stands at $880.59, with $1.75 available for Speaker #3 after both purchases and the $0.80 bank fee.
Speaker #2 reaches $326.10 as Kununurra and Toodyay join.
A further $20 community donation on 3 September lifts cumulative fundraising to $782.92. After the $0.80 bank fee, $326.10 is available for Speaker #2. Kununurra Waringarri Aboriginal Corporation and Toodyay Community Resource Centre bring the confirmed register to 46 WA locations, leaving 62 still to confirm.
A $25 community donation and two Containers for Change returns totalling $23.30 lift cumulative fundraising to $704.32 and leave $248.30 for Speaker #2. The first kit had been collected at Halls Creek LPO on 27 August; safe arrival in Mulan was confirmed by Shirley on 7 September.

Funding and recipient update
Speaker #2 reaches $200 and Jigalong joins the program.
Recent Containers for Change proceeds, a community donation and a personal donation bring cumulative program fundraising to $656.02. After $456.02 was applied to Speaker #1, $200 remains for Speaker #2. Jigalong Youth and Cultural Centre brings the confirmed register to 44 WA locations.
A $2.95 personal contribution and a $35 donation from profit on a neon sign lift the cumulative amount raised to $572.47. A further $305.57 is needed to reach the current $422.02 base speaker price, excluding delivery.
Merredin — Avon Community Services, Wagin — Wagin Youth Centre Inc., and Ellenbrook — Ellenbrook Youth Centre / City of Swan bring the confirmed total to 43, leaving 65 locations still to confirm.
Mulan Aboriginal Community is the first official recipient, with Mulan Aboriginal Corporation as the local custodian. $456.02 was applied to the kit, leaving $78.50 towards the next speaker at that date.
Wyndham Youth Aboriginal Corporation, Dowerin Community Resource Centre and Waroona CRC / Waroona Youth Centre bring the confirmed WA location total to 40.
A $30 Containers for Change contribution from Northam and a further $25 community donation brought the current program account balance to $78.50 after the first-kit allocation.
Pemberton Youth Zone confirmed it can put a portable speaker to good use. The kit
will be stored in the PYZ room at the Pemberton Community Sports Club and available
to support local youth activities.
Bundiyarra Aboriginal Community in Geraldton and Avon Community Services’
6510Youth service in Moora both confirmed they would welcome a kit. The equipment
can support existing youth, family and community activities in both locations.
Cue Youth Centre confirmed a JBL speaker was already on its wish list. Hope Community
Services in Coolgardie plans to use its kit during workshops with young people out on
Country, where portable sound and microphones can go wherever the activities happen.
The program’s selected model is now the JBL PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus, supplied with two wireless microphones. WAssup will continue seeking the best available commercial price before each purchase.
Before the 108 Speakers Program began, three speaker-and-microphone kits were delivered
to community organisations. Those experiences showed the equipment was wanted, useful
and capable of supporting very different communities.

Why are these not counted in the 108? They were provided before the
official program began. Keeping them separate protects the promise of 108 new WA
placements and makes the public tally clear.
