Speaker #3 has been delivered to Broome Youth & Families Hub.

BYFH was the first organisation to say yes to the program. Its JBL PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus and two wireless microphones are now in Broome, ready to support young people, creative activities and community events.

Purchased on 19 October 2026 for $422.02, plus $36 direct delivery to Broome — $458.02 in total. Three official kits have now been delivered, with 105 to go.

Bhutanese-community appeal · 50/50

Support a speaker here and a speaker in Bhutan.

Druk Bars is WAssup’s separate, hoped-for speaker-and-microphone kit for Tangmachu Central School in Lhuentse, Bhutan. Donations through this appeal are split equally: half supports the general WA 108 Speakers Program and half goes into the dedicated Bhutan fund.

Nominate a WA organisation

You can introduce WAssup to a youth or community organisation that could genuinely use a portable speaker-and-microphone kit. A nomination is the beginning of a conversation and does not automatically guarantee a speaker.

Potential recipients should:

  • Work directly with young people or the broader community
  • Have a genuine and regular use for the equipment
  • Store, care for and manage the kit responsibly
  • Make it available to the people it is intended to support
  • Respect child safety, privacy and cultural protocols

Every recipient must pass the WAssup cupboard test: the equipment should be used, not left sitting idle.

Where will my contribution go?

Contributions to the 108 Speakers Program help fund portable JBL speaker-and-microphone kits and delivery to confirmed WA locations. WAssup pays freight from WAssup funds and seeks free community transport where practical. The current financial snapshot is published on the Trust & Accountability page.

Are donations tax deductible?

No. WAssup Community Services is not currently a registered charity, so donations are not tax deductible.

Can I choose which recipient receives my support?

Contact WAssup before donating if you want to discuss supporting a particular confirmed recipient. Any arrangement must remain practical, transparent and consistent with the program's delivery planning.

Will sponsors be publicly recognised?

Recognition is optional. WAssup will agree on any public acknowledgement with the supporter and the recipient organisation before publishing it.

How are confirmed locations selected?

WAssup looks for a suitable local custodian with a genuine use for the equipment, responsible storage and management, and a commitment to making it available to the people it is intended to support. Every placement must pass the cupboard test.

Are recipients required to provide photographs?

No. Photographs, video and public recognition are never more important than child safety, privacy, consent or cultural protocols. Publicity is permission-based.

What if I transfer money by mistake?

Contact WAssup promptly at wassup@wassup.au. Mistaken-payment requests are reviewed case by case after the original payment is verified. See Trust & Accountability for the full approach.

Who owns and looks after a donated speaker?

Ownership transfers to the recipient organisation at handover. The recipient manages ordinary care, storage, charging, maintenance and local access under its own policies. Insurance is not a condition of receiving a kit. See Trust & Accountability.

Who pays freight and decides who can use the speaker?

WAssup pays freight and delivery from WAssup funds, while seeking free community transport where practical. Day-to-day access is decided locally by the recipient organisation according to its facilities, supervision, safeguarding and operating arrangements.

What about the three speakers delivered before this program?

Earlier speakers delivered to Fitzroy Crossing, Denmark and Northam proved the concept. They were provided before the official 108 Speakers Program began and are kept separate from the 108 delivery tally.
