Practical help, youth activities and community connections.

Waroona Community Resource Centre is a community-managed, not-for-profit organisation supporting people across the district. Its work brings together youth programs, family support, everyday services and opportunities for people to connect.

Programs and services

Little Youthie and Big Youthie

The CRC manages Little Youthie and Big Youthie, providing social activities and opportunities to develop life skills for children and teenagers.

Sessions are held fortnightly on Thursdays at the blue Youth Centre building on the corner of Parnell Street and South Western Highway.

Contact the CRC for the next session, age groups, activities, costs and enrolment arrangements.

Family Support Service

The CRC’s confidential Family Support Service helps individuals and families with practical assistance, advocacy, referrals and No Interest Loan Scheme applications.

The service also provides outreach to surrounding communities, including Preston Beach, Lake Clifton, Pinjarra, Harvey and Yarloop. Contact the team for appointments and current outreach arrangements.

Community kitchen and garden

The community garden grows fresh produce for the CRC’s kitchen and makes fruit and vegetables available for a gold-coin contribution. The kitchen serves free meals, offering both food support and a place to meet others.

Garden improvements completed with local partners include equipment, secure storage, handmade furniture and native edible plants. Waroona Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation rangers contributed planting and artwork, bringing cultural learning into the shared space.

Support for older residents

The Staying in Place program helps older residents access support to remain at home. The CRC also offers social activities, information sessions and community events.

Its annual Christmas hamper initiative supports households across Waroona, Preston Beach and Lake Clifton. Contact the centre about assistance or contributing to the appeal.

Community car

The Waroona Community Car helps Shire residents attend medical and hospital appointments. The CRC coordinates bookings, supported by volunteer drivers.

The service operates on weekdays. Contact the CRC about availability, fares and any assistance needed when travelling.

Everyday services and visiting professionals

The centre provides computer and internet access, printing, copying, scanning, laminating, binding, digital skills support and room hire. It also hosts visiting health and community services.

Other assistance includes Services Australia access, TransWA information and bookings, résumé support and Justice of the Peace appointments.

To offer a donation, sponsorship, useful equipment or volunteer help, contact reception@waroonacrc.com.au.

Ask the team about its current priorities and payment arrangements. You can discuss supporting a particular activity, such as the youth programs, community kitchen, garden or Christmas hamper appeal.

Volunteers contribute across the organisation, including the kitchen and community car service. Ask which roles are currently available and what they involve.
