Wagin Youth Centre Inc.
Local volunteers creating opportunities for Wagin’s young people.
Wagin Youth Centre is a community organisation run by a volunteer committee. Its focus is providing a welcoming place where young people can spend time together, build confidence and help shape activities that interest them.
Based at the former drive-in cinema building on Ballagin Street, the centre has supported local youth since 2009. It works alongside community groups, volunteers and the Shire of Wagin.
Youth activities and community connections
The centre’s work has included:
- Creative activities: children helped decorate recycled wooden Christmas trees in a joint project with the Shire, Wagin CRC and Wagin Care & Share. Their creations were displayed around town.
- Social events: the centre’s birthday bonfire has brought young people and community members together for music, food and an opportunity to meet volunteers.
- Practical learning: a partnership with Narrogin Senior High School provided workplace learning in the centre’s community workshop, supported by an experienced local volunteer.
- Community markets: volunteer-run WYC Markets raise money to support the centre.
Building the next stage
In September 2026, the committee announced further building works and an aim to resume regular youth activities as early as late November. Its stated focus is young people primarily aged 11–17.
Contact the committee for the reopening date, session times and participation arrangements. Young people, parents and prospective volunteers can also ask how to contribute ideas for the centre’s next stage.
Read the centre’s announcement in the 18 September 2026 Wagin Wool Press.
Donate or support the centre
To offer financial support, sponsorship or practical help, email waginyouthcentre@gmail.com. Ask the committee about its current priorities and how to make a contribution directly to Wagin Youth Centre.
Other ways to help include supporting its markets and fundraising events, or volunteering your time. The centre has sought adult supervisors, with a valid Working with Children Check required for that role.
