WAssup 108 Speakers Program: Confirmed — future allocation

Quairading Community Resource Centre is a community-owned, not-for-profit organisation helping local people access information, technology, training and opportunities to connect.

Established as a Telecentre in 1998, it now operates from the Community Resource and Cultural Arts Centre at 1 Parker Street. Its work supports residents, community groups and businesses across Quairading and surrounding districts.

Programs and community services

Technology and everyday assistance

The CRC provides public computers, internet access and practical help with everyday tasks.

Services include printing, copying, scanning, binding, laminating, document preparation, exam supervision and video conferencing. The team also assists with business cards, invitations, community publications and other printing projects. Charges apply to some services.

Training and skills development

The centre coordinates training in response to local needs, helping people develop skills for work, business and daily life.

Its published offerings include individual computer and device assistance, forklift and driver training, agricultural chemical training, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Approved Manager courses. Businesses can also discuss arranging training suited to their staff.

Contact the CRC for upcoming courses, bookings and costs.

Access to government services

As a Services Australia Access Point, the CRC provides facilities for accessing Medicare, Centrelink and Child Support services.

These include telephone access, forms, document copying and identity-document certification for departmental purposes. The Access Point is a self-service facility; Services Australia staff are not based at the centre.

Home support and Staying in Place

The CRC’s Staying in Place service helps older residents connect with local support to remain at home.

Its recent community information includes arrangements for cleaning and gardening support through local workers. Contact the team to discuss current services, access arrangements and costs.

Home support enquiries: stayinginplace@quairadingcrc.com.au.

Arts and social connection

The CRC provides space for creative activities, exhibitions and community gatherings.

Its 2026 Arts Showcase brought together work from Hot Stitches, the weekly social sewing group, the Weekly Art Group and Quairading Photo Club. Other advertised activities have included cards afternoons and social gatherings.

Meeting rooms, training spaces, an art space and kitchen facilities are available for suitable bookings. Contact the centre about availability, equipment and hire charges.

Keeping Quairading informed

The CRC produces two local publications:

  • Banksia Bulletin: a monthly community paper featuring local news, contributions, events and advertising.
  • The Passion Sheet: a regular newsletter sharing community notices and local information.

The centre also produces the Quairading Phone Book and Business Directory.
