WAssup 108 Speakers Program: Confirmed — future allocation
Paraburdoo Youth Centre provides a local space for young people to connect, take part in activities and build relationships with youth workers.
Yinhawangka Foundation delivers services at the centre, bringing a community-led approach to supporting young people in Paraburdoo and surrounding communities.
Youth activities and support
A place to connect
The centre’s work includes supervised activities, opportunities to socialise and support from staff who build relationships with young people and their families.
Youth workers help organise activities, prepare equipment and maintain a welcoming environment where young people can participate and feel supported. Contact the team for current sessions, activities and participation details.
Young people shaping their centre
Youth Centre Coordinator Hayley Wickham began her role with Yinhawangka Foundation in August 2026, following five years with Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation.
Her approach includes hearing directly from young people about the activities they want and involving them in shaping the centre. Young people and families from Paraburdoo and surrounding communities are encouraged to contact Hayley with ideas and enquiries.
About Yinhawangka Foundation
Yinhawangka Foundation was established by Yinhawangka People to strengthen community leadership, cultural wellbeing and opportunities for future generations.
Its broader work focuses on connection to Country and culture, community wellbeing, education, housing, healing and economic opportunities. Programs are developed around Yinhawangka priorities, with community knowledge and cultural authority guiding the work.
Art, culture and storytelling
Alongside its youth work, the Foundation has developed an arts program with Living Cultures and FORM.
The Developing Artists workshops support Yinhawangka participants to explore painting, storytelling and connection to Country. Activities include guidance from professional artists, opportunities to develop skills and pathways towards exhibitions.
These are Foundation programs delivered across communities; contact the team for upcoming locations and participation details.
