Gnowangerup Community Resource Centre — Gnowangerup
Gnowangerup Community Resource Centre is a locally owned and managed organisation supporting residents, families, community groups and businesses across Gnowangerup and surrounding districts.
Based in the Yougenup Centre, the CRC brings together practical services, technology, learning opportunities and community activities.
Programs and services
Children’s activities and creative learning
The CRC offers opportunities for children to learn, create and participate locally. Recent activities include Knot & Create, a children’s macramé workshop presented during the 2026 Bloom Festival.
Its Science Explorers project received National Science Week funding in 2026 for experiments, challenges and practical activities introducing young people to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Contact the centre for current children’s activities, age requirements and bookings.
Community art and exhibitions
The CRC supports local creativity through workshops and exhibitions. Its 2026 Blooming Creativity Exhibition showcased work by Gnowangerup District High School students, including paintings, clay pieces and sculptures inspired by the theme “In Bloom”.
Creative workshops have also included macramé for adults and beginners, providing opportunities to learn a skill and meet others.
Digital access and everyday assistance
Services include public computers, internet and Wi-Fi access, printing, scanning, photocopying, laminating and binding. The centre also provides design and administrative services, video conferencing and space for study or reading. Computer training and employment support are among its listed activities.
Government services
A Services Australia Agent operates at the Yougenup Centre, providing a local place to access assistance with government services.
Contact the CRC before visiting if you need help with a particular task or document.
Business and work skills
The CRC provides a venue for visiting training and business workshops. Albany Business Centre’s Koodjal Business Support program lists Gnowangerup CRC as a workshop location for Aboriginal people in the Great Southern interested in starting or developing a business.
Topics include starting a business and preparing a practical, one-page business plan. Check the organiser’s event information for dates and participation details.
Library and family connections
The Yougenup Centre also houses the Shire’s Gnowangerup Library, the Gnowangerup and Districts Toy Library and the Arts for Gnow Gallery.
The public library offers books, audiobooks, DVDs and children’s collections. Enquire separately about library membership and toy library arrangements.
