Gingin District Community Resource Centre is a community-run organisation connecting local people with information, services, learning opportunities and one another. Established in 1999, the CRC supports Gingin and surrounding rural communities through its resource centre, visitor services and community activities. A volunteer committee guides its work alongside staff and volunteers.

Programs and services

Everyday assistance and digital access

The CRC provides access to online government services and Centrelink self-service facilities, alongside information and practical administrative assistance. Its services include résumé preparation, document and poster design, publishing and video conferencing. Computer training and digital literacy activities help residents build confidence using technology.

Learning, employment and local business

The centre supports business development through information, courses, office facilities and examination supervision. Work experience and return-to-work placements also form part of its community role.

The CRC employs an annual trainee who gains a qualification while learning how the resource and visitor centre operates. Gingin was also included in the October 2026 regional traineeship funding announcement for a Certificate IV in Business. Contact the centre about future opportunities.

Staying in Place

Gingin’s Staying in Place team helps residents connect with support to continue living at home as they age. Local care coordinators provide information and help people explore suitable services.

Contact the CRC to speak with the team about current arrangements and available support.

Community activities and connections

Social activities, information sessions, events and the community garden give residents opportunities to participate and meet others. The CRC also helps newcomers find their way through local information and welcome packs.

Ask the team about current activities, bookings and ways to get involved.

Local news and visitor information

The CRC produces the Gingin Buzz community newspaper and the Gingin Regional Directory, helping residents find local organisations, businesses, services and events. Community members can contribute news, while businesses can enquire about advertising and directory listings.

The visitor centre offers local information, trail maps and a selection of predominantly local produce and products. The building provides accessible entry and an accessible toilet.
