Cue Youth Centre provides a local base for young people’s activities, recreation and community participation in Western Australia’s Murchison region.

Operated through the Shire of Cue, the centre is housed in the old Railway Station beside the Cue Sports Oval. The station and surrounding recreation precinct bring youth activities, sport and community gatherings together in one part of town.

Programs and activities

Recreation, culture and community participation

The Shire’s youth service coordinates activities, events and projects that help young people participate in recreational, cultural and community life.

The Youth Coordinator manages the centre and works with young people, families, schools, community groups and other services to develop opportunities suited to local needs. Contact the coordinator to find out what is running or to suggest an activity.

Sport and outdoor activities

The centre’s location beside the sports oval provides access to a wider recreation precinct. Nearby facilities include multi-use courts marked for basketball, netball and tennis, along with a pump track for scooters, skateboards and smaller bicycles.

These shared community spaces provide options for outdoor play and organised activities. Check with youth staff about which facilities form part of a particular session.

Cooking and healthy living

Visiting Fair Game activities in Cue have combined sport, practical learning and healthy living education.

Activities have included preparing affordable meals at the youth centre, followed by outdoor games that help children learn about food groups. Other themes have covered dental health, hygiene and everyday habits that support wellbeing.

These visits show how practical activities can make learning social and enjoyable. Ask the Youth Coordinator about upcoming visiting programs and workshops.

Taking part

For current opening times and activities, contact Youth Coordinator Ben Andrew.

Ask about the age range for each session, enrolment, bookings, costs and any arrangements parents or carers need to know about.

Community announcements are also available through the Shire’s events calendar and The Dryblower newsletter. Check the individual activity details before attending, as venues and participation requirements can vary.

Support Cue Youth Centre

To discuss a donation, sponsorship, equipment or help delivering an activity, contact the Youth Coordinator through the Shire of Cue.

Explain that you would like to support the youth centre and ask about current priorities and the Shire’s arrangements for accepting contributions.

Local businesses, community groups and people with practical or creative skills can also discuss whether their offer would suit an upcoming program.
