Hope Community Services — Coolgardie
Hope Community Services (HOPE) supports people in Coolgardie through its Goldfields outreach services and community partnerships. Its work includes alcohol and other drug support, counselling and activities that help people connect with others and access assistance.
The Goldfields service is based in Kalgoorlie, with outreach extending to Coolgardie and surrounding communities.
Programs and support
Young people and activities on Country
HOPE’s local partnerships have included a youth bush trip to Burra Rock, organised with Goldfields Aboriginal Community Services. The activity brought young people together outside a conventional service setting, with transport from Coolgardie included in the advertised arrangements.
Contact the Goldfields team for current youth activities, eligibility, permission requirements and transport information.
Alcohol and other drug support
HOPE’s Goldfields Community Alcohol and Drug Service provides free, confidential support, including:
- Individual counselling and group programs.
- Assistance for families and people concerned about someone close to them.
- Alcohol and other drug education and prevention activities.
- Court diversion and fine payment programs.
The service provides outreach to Coolgardie. Contact the regional team to discuss appointments and available local arrangements.
Youth mental health
HOPE operates headspace Kalgoorlie, offering free early intervention support for young people aged 12–25.
Young people can seek help with concerns such as stress, friendships, school, relationships, identity, alcohol or other drug use. The centre also provides or connects participants with work and study support.
Visit headspace Kalgoorlie for appointments and current service information.
Connection, family wellbeing and healing
HOPE’s Men’s Bush Trips create opportunities for men to spend time on Country, share food, yarn and connect with support services. The program addresses issues affecting men and their families, including relationships, wellbeing, alcohol and other drug use, and preventing family violence.
Through Mara Pirni Healing Place in Kalgoorlie, HOPE and its partners also provide family and domestic violence support. Services include advocacy, safety planning, family support, cultural healing and connections with legal assistance. A referral is not required.
See Mara Pirni Healing Place for access information.
