Ardyaloon Incorporated
Community leadership, young people and saltwater connections at One Arm Point.
Ardyaloon Incorporated supports the community of Ardyaloon, also known as One Arm Point, on the Dampier Peninsula in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.
The community is home to Bardi Jawi people, with strong connections to Country, language and the sea. Ardyaloon Incorporated’s work includes community administration, local employment, youth initiatives and community projects.
Programs and community activities
Young people, mentoring and recreation
Ardyaloon’s Youth Development and Mentoring Program has received support through the Australian Government’s Remote Jobs and Economic Development program.
Community activities have included the Dampier Peninsula Youth Fishing Competition, hosted by Ardyaloon Incorporated. The two-day gathering brought together fishing, community dinners, a movie night and a Blue Light Disco supported by WA Police.
These events give young people opportunities to participate, celebrate their achievements and spend time with their community.
Local jobs and skills
Ardyaloon Incorporated has created local administration and groundskeeping positions through the Remote Jobs and Economic Development program.
The roles support the everyday running of the organisation and maintenance of shared community spaces, while providing paid employment and opportunities to develop skills locally.
Community projects and wellbeing
A community fruit and vegetable garden was among Ardyaloon’s projects supported through Horizon Power’s Community Partnerships Program in October 2025.
Visiting organisations also bring services into the community. First Nations Foundation advertised a September 2026 Financial Wellness Outreach event offering assistance with banking, superannuation, unclaimed money and referrals, alongside a community lunch.
Contact the community office for upcoming activities and visiting services.
Saltwater knowledge and the hatchery
Established in 1988, the Ardyaloon Trochus Hatchery has supported aquaculture research, trochus restocking and marine education connected to the community’s saltwater traditions.
The hatchery is currently advertised as closed until further notice following significant damage. Contact the office for updates before planning a visit.
